Nitush-Aroosh

Nitush · Aroosh is a New Delhi–based studio working across furniture, objects, and sculpture. Founded by self-taught artists Nitush and Aroosh, the practice centres on rethinking stainless steel beyond its industrial associations.

The studio approaches furniture as art. Each piece is conceived not just for use, but as a spatial presence, contributing to a distinct visual identity shaped by material and form. Through processes of pressure, expansion, and handwork, metal is pushed into forms that hold tension, distortion, and reflection. Surfaces remain active, capturing and altering their surroundings so that the work shifts with light, movement, and context.

Rather than following a fixed language, each piece develops through an ongoing engagement with material and process. The works retain traces of how they are made, allowing stainless steel to move away from something static and toward something more responsive.

At its core, the practice explores how objects can exist between function and sculpture, where use and experience are held in equal measure.
